And on Thursday
the central bank, ministry and 4 other Chinese government offices
banned the use of Bitcoin (or virtual currency)
in business transactions
because of worries Bitcoin could be used in money laundering
and could be a threat to the financial stability of the country,
in addition to protecting the Renminbi currency of China,
which is the country's only legal money.
This order of the Chinese government says that
Bitcoin is not real legal money
but is online merchandise
that shouldn't be used in commerce like real money.
