In the first story, international delegates
who attended a meeting of the World Trade Organization,
or WTO for short, in Bali, Indonesia,
voted to approve a trade agreement for the first time
since the establishment of the WTO in 1995.
WTO Director Mr. Roberto Azevedo
shed tears of joy during the meeting's closing ceremony on Saturday while saying that
this is the first time in history that the WTO has been successful.
The main issue of the agreement
is leniency in trade barriers
by making Customs procedures easier and more transparent.
However, governments of the 159 WTO member countries
will need to vote to approve this agreement first.
Analysts estimate that this agreement of the WTO will increase
trade valued at 1 trillion dollars to the world economy
along with the future survival of the organization.
