This official also said that
more than 45% of the rice grown
in the province of Tien Giang
is high quality rice
and they're planning to expand the growing area
to support new rice markets for Vietnam.
Nguyen Ngoc Phan, rice farmer in the Tien Giang province, said that
he has clearly seen additional income
after turning to grow high quality rice for the past 5 years.
This rice farmer from Vietnam said that
he was encouraged by agriculture officials to grow rice
of higher quality many years ago
and of course when growing rice of higher quality
his income increased as well.
So he decided to expand the area for cultivating rice
filling his fields.
