Mr. David Streckfuss said that
when the Pheu Thai party came in
they promised to at least examine this law
with the help of academics and legal experts.
But it appears that at this time they will go back on their promise.
However, David Streckfuss said that
now there appears to be fewer new cases of Lese Majeste
after the number increased to more than 400 cases
in the year 2010.
Thai officials insist that
this law must remain
in order to protect the King.
