Professor Michael Liu, astronomer at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu said that
all current evidence indicates that
planetary systems where planets orbit stars are common
and believes that scientists are close to discovering other planets like Earth
that orbit around stars like the Sun
which is why we're using telescopes to look at the stars.
There are scientists using telescopes to "listen",
that is, dishes or antenna that listen to radio wave signals from space,
like Professor Alan Penny,
astronomer at St. Andrews University in Scotland
and chairman of the United Kingdom's Search for Extraterrestrials group
also called UKSETI for short.
UKSETI has plans to connect radio telescopes
across England together to look for E.T.'s
This scholar said that an important key is to split noise and natural signals
from signals of intelligent life, or E.T.'s, which are a structure of signals.
