Since this past April
after there was an announcement to accept applications for "Mars Cowboys",
over 202,000 people submitted applications,
with around 25% of those interested being American,
10% Indian, 6% Chinese
and around 5% coming from Brazil, etc.
And if this 7 month trip to Mars is successful,
the cowboys from Earth,
or pioneers who establish a new colony on Mars
will still have to face many additional challenging problems,
from extremely cold temperatures reaching -55 degrees celcius on Mars' surface
to atmospheric conditions that consist mainly of carbon dioxide.
