touched record levels
of $12.25 per kilo,
up 45% from 6 years ago.
One factor is that cocoa beans used in making chocolate are in short supply
due to unfavorable weather conditions in Africa where they're grown.
Additionally, it's because of consumers' behavior in America and Europe
who are turning to eat more dark chocolate
which is a type of chocolate that's made with more cocoa beans than
common milk chocolate.
