UNEP official Ms. Lemmat said that
if we look at the damage cost estimates of illnesses
from insecticide poisons
in Africa south of the Sahara desert,
although the cost of both treatment and lost incomes
was about 6.3 billion US dollars 3 years ago,
this cost was higher than the assistance money used in
all other outside development projects
granted to countries in this region.
