He said that in the past it was understood
that Russian deposits in Cyprus were safe
because both countries have always had a relationship.
And in the past, Russia has loaned money to Cyprus too.
This analyst also said that
politicians in Russia need to manage this issue
to reduce the impact on the Russian people.
Cyprus' economy is very small
when compared with other Eurozone countries.
But past economic recovery plans of various Eurozone countries
didn't collect taxes on deposits.
No matter if it's Greece, Portugal, Ireland or Spain,
some analysts said that
if a deposit tax is really collected in the crisis recovery plan,
it will be an example for healing the economies of other Eurozone countries.
And that might not be a good thing
because people may become afraid and withdraw their money.
