Bunnarith continued that his son called out for him to jump into the river.
So he jumped into the river.
He blinked his eyes quickly several times in the water
to try to wash the acid from his eyes.
But after that he couldn't see.
This incident happened 15 years ago.
Presently, Bunnarith
is an advisor at the charity organization
Cambodian Acid Survivors Charity
which is an institution that provides a place to stay for acid victims
for receiving therapy and rehabilitation.
