Mr. Tun Aung's case is only one example
out of hundreds of Rohingya Muslims who were sentenced for many years
without fair trials.
In addition, living conditions within the prisons
are pretty awful.
Kyaw Hla Aung of the group Doctors Without Borders
revealed that there are around another 185 imprisoned Rohingya Muslims awaiting trial,
and there are 2 accused who were tortured
and died within the past 10 days.
Human rights organizations indicate that
an investigation into the source of the violence in the Rakhine State
is the only thing untouched by Myanmar's justice system
since the start of Myanmar's political and economic reforms, until now.
And as of today, there still lacks freedom
to investigate this issue.
