This past August
Greenpeace activists
chained themselves to a Russian oil drilling ship
which was working for Gazprom in the Barents Sea.
Kumi Naidoo Executive Director of Greenpeace
said this was a peaceful attempt of Greenpeace
in encouraging oil giants like Gazprom,
Shell and other businesses
to consider cancelling oil drilling plans at the North Pole
and he wants to create an understanding of the severe effects
that will follow in the future of our next generation.
